David Anthony Yafanaro Sr., age 71, of Kirtland, OH., passed away on June 21, 2025, at Hillcrest Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer. David was born on April 6, 1954, to parents Albert and Antoinette Yafanaro in Cleveland, OH. David graduated from North High School in 1973. David worked in construction most of his life and he retired in his maintenance role at Brookdale Senior Living in Wickliffe. In his free time, David had a passion for singing karaoke. He loved the joy it brought to the people around him and some of his favorite songs to sing were hits from Frank Sinatra, his favorite being "That's Life". He also loved one of the crowd favorites, "Hang on Sloopy" and many other oldies. David is survived by his children, David Yafanaro Jr., Ong (formerly Rosa) Yafanaro, and Valerie Runewicz. He is also survived by his siblings, Denise Massey Yafanaro, Ronald Yafanaro, and Anthony Yafanaro. David is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Antoinette, and by his sister Deborah Ellis Yafanaro. The family will be hosting a Memorial Celebration of Life on July 12th, 2025, at 2pm, at K&D Management, 4420 Sherwin Rd., Willoughby, OH., 44094, and would love for all family and friends to stop by to honor and remember David. Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements, 29801 Lakeland Blvd., Wickliffe, OH., 44092. 440-361-2273. www.lakeeriecrematory.com
