Born on October 11, 1960, in Milton, Florida, Susie was the daughter of Lona Mae and Wade McCurdy, who preceded her in death, and one of ten siblings. She filled her life with love and laughter, cherishing time spent with family, enjoying movie outings, and dining out with loved ones. Susie's warmth and generosity made every gathering special, and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. As a service administrator for Total Fire Protection, she was respected for her dedication and professionalism. Susie attended Bible Baptist Church where she found joy in her faith and community.
Susie is survived by her devoted son, Nickolas Gay and his wife, Heather, of Gonzales, Louisiana; her beloved daughter, Shannon Joyner and her husband, Ben Jr., of Milton, Florida; her cherished grandchildren, Ben Joyner III, Easton Joyner, Landry Gay, and Adeline Gay; her great-grandchild, Ben Joyner IV; her brothers and sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends who brought joy to her life and were blessed by her kindness.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 1, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel 6405 Highway 90 W Milton, FL 32570, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery, with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
