Debra "Debbie" Sue Jones, the beloved daughter of Howard Curtis Wilson and Helen (Machester) Wilson, was born on March 21, 1951, and passed away on January 24, 2025, in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, at the age of 73.
Debbie went to school in Mercer, Missouri, and later moved to Lineville, Iowa, where she graduated from ACL School in 1969. On March 15, 1975, she married Steve Jones at the Lineville Methodist Church. Together, they shared a life full of love and cherished memories.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Jones; her sons, Carl Lewalter Jones (Jessica) and Justin Howard Jones (Jenny); and her grandchildren, Randy Jones, Bailey Stewart, Alex Hosman, and Amber Hosman.
Debbie spent much of her life in Des Moines, Iowa, where she attended beauty school and worked as a beautician before moving on to roles at Bankers Life and Veterans Auditorium, where she worked until her retirement. Following her retirement, she assisted her sister, Judy, as a bookkeeper until 2015.
In addition to her immediate family, Debbie is survived by her sister, Judy Rockhold, and brother-in-law, Alan "Lanny" Rockhold, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her aunt, Shirely Walter, and husband, Larry Walter, of Mount, Missouri; her sister-in-law Theresa Terronez, and husband, Sid, of Illinois; her brother-in-law, Ted Scully II, and his wife, Julie of Illinois; and her brother-in-law, Ed Scully, and wife, Lorrie, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. Howard and Helen Wilson, and her sister, Sharon Karns.
A memorial service to celebrate Debbie's life will be announced at a later date.
