Dennis Clifton Peeples, 92, passed away on April 21, 2025 in Oklahoma City.
He was born August 20, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma during the depression to JV and Martha Peeples. Dennis was the first born of five children. His dad worked as a butcher making $10 a week. His dad had a chance to better his family and became an insurance agent which moved them to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1943. He was 11 that year. Dennis attended Oklahoma A&M and married his first wife, Donna Jeannine Peeples in 1952. That same year he began working for Cities Service Oil Company where he would work for 37 years in the exploration department doing field work and drafting. Dennis and Jeannine had two children together; Michael Ray and Paul Allen. His first wife, Jeannine, died in January 1997. In 1998, one year after the death of his first wife, Dennis married Rae Lynne Ahpeatone, a fellow widow who also lost her spouse to cancer. Dennis and Rae Lynne enjoyed a wonderful marriage in which they welcomed many grandkids and great grandkids, who they cherished dearly.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Donna Jeannine (Jan. 17, 1997), his son Paul Allen (Feb. 25, 2003), his son Michael Ray (June 4, 2023), and finally his second wife Rae Lynne (Jan. 2025).
Dennis is survived in death by grandson Clifton Eugene Peeples (son of Paul) and wife Gabby; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Nicholas Peeples; grandson Michael Joseph Peeples (son of Michael Ray) and his wife Kelly Peeples; two great grandchildren, Avery Rose and Oliver; granddaughter Anna (Peeples) Elder (daughter of Michael Ray) and three great grand children, Owen Elder, Evan Elder and Penelope Elder. Dennis also leaves behind a brother, Richard Joe Peeples of Houston, Texas and Ruby Mae Wilson of Pleasanton, Kansas, as well as a widowed brother in law, James Rodney Brown of Zena, Oklahoma. As well as his second wife’s children from her previous marriage, Andrew, Lance, Jamie Jon and Jerrae.
The family would like to thank the Empty Nesters Bible study group at Crossings Community church for their continued support and love they have given to Dennis and his family.
A memorial service will be held at Crossings Community Church on April 30th at 2pm in the afternoon with a graveside service at Chapel Hill Cemetery to follow directly after.
