Donald Ray Gibson, age 78, a resident of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, formally of Salyersville; passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at ARH Prestonsburg after a lengthy illness.
Donald Ray was born July 30, 1947, in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Raymond and Emogene Barnett Gibson. Sister, Linda Lou Bailey, brother, Raymond Gibson Jr., also preceded in death.
Donald Ray worked in a variety of places but often found himself plumbing privately. He loved spending time with family and friends, spread the word of God, make woodcrafts, and play cards.
Those left to mourn includes, companion, Vickie Harper of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, sisters, Doris Morgan of Salyersville, Kentucky, Helen Sparks of Salyersville, Kentucky, Barbara Sue Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Rosemary Risner of Salyersville, Kentucky, brothers, Darvin Gibson of Salyersville, Kentucky, Russell Gibson of Salyersville, Kentucky, Raymond Keeton of Salyersville, Kentucky, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Donald Ray Gibson will be conducted Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Larry Patrick will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Earl May Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Monday, February 3, 2025, after 6:00 PM and any time prior to funeral services.
