Donald B. “Donnie” Smith, 56, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 19, 1969, in Akron, OH, he was the son of George D. Smith (wife Patsy) of Dillsburg, PA, and Sara Lane Laughman of New Oxford, PA.
Donnie was employed as an Excavating Superintendent with David H. Martin Excavating for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Mason Dixon Chapter of ABATE, and the Gettysburg Eagles Aerie #1562. In his free time, Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his dogs, Samson and Chief.
In addition to his parents, Donnie is survived by his long-time companion, Holly L. Biggins of Fayetteville, and her son Andrew Biggins; two sons, Trenton and Garrett Smith; and four siblings, Nancy Petrosky (husband Brent), Wendie Delaware, Cindy Laurenson (husband Dorn), and George Smith.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
