Donald Ray Vogler Sr., passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was born December 15, 1937, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He spent his career as a successful auto parts manager and had a lifelong passion for all things automotive. He enjoyed NASCAR, the warmth of the Carolina beaches, home-cooked meals, and above all, the family he built and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Marlene Henning Vogler.
Donald is survived by his eldest son, Donald Ray Vogler Jr., and his wife, Nancy; his grandchildren, Zachary and Allix; and his great-grandchildren, Lukas, Ariel, and Benjamin; youngest son, John Christopher “Chris” Vogler, and his wife, Jamie; his grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, and Torri; and his great-grandchildren, Sadie, Austin, and Murphy.
Also surviving is a special companion, Mary Ellen Shumate and her daughter, Karen. She was a caring, loving, and supportive partner that he loved and cherished.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, with the Rev. Joshua Grube officiating.
