Obituary of Douglas Leon Jones
Douglas Leon Jones, aged 65, of Oxford, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1959, in Munich, Germany.
Douglas leaves behind his loving wife, Elizabeth (nee Blouin), three children: Aisha, JJ, and Kalissa, a granddaughter Mekhia, and many beloved family members & friends.
With a passion for art, Douglas enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Art & Production Director for almost 30 years, most recently in Newark, NJ. A former publisher of the New Jersey Law Journal described Doug as "... a rock of reliability and dependability." His creativity was also evident in his leisure time, where he loved creating family photo collages to encourage people to stay in touch. Doug was a diehard Eagles fan but also took pleasure in collecting a variety of NFL jerseys. He was the person who everyone could count on with no judgement. He was a proud graduate of the East Orange High School - GO PANTHERS!!!
Douglas is predeceased by his loving mother, Carol Brown Boone, Floyd Boone, as well as grandparents, aunts, and cousins.
He will be forever remembered by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Jones; siblings, Gregory Jones (Stephanie), Tawanda Brown, and Tyrone Brown (Adrian); children, Aisha Richardson, James Jones, Kalissa Powell; granddaughters, Mekhia and Heaven; grandson, Israel; uncles, James Jones, Jr. and Ronald Jones; aunt, Linda Barnes; sisters-in-law Janis, Jane, and Chica; nephew Tahj Brown-Parker and numerous loving extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather with Douglas's family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a service at 7:00 PM - 8:00PM.
Livestreaming of the service will be available on Tuesday at 7pm for those who cannot attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Douglas's memory may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
