Eddie Lopez, 19, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away on May 8th, 2025. He was born on July 5th, 2005, in Gainesville, Texas, to Alicia Huerta and Alejandro Lopez.
Eddie graduated from Gainesville High School in 2023 and was pursuing a degree in Nursing at North Central Texas College. He was set to graduate on May 16th, 2025—a milestone he had worked hard to achieve and was excited to reach.
Known for his love of video games and his deep devotion to family, Eddie found joy in the simple moments. His kind heart, infectious smile, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Alicia Huerta; father, Alejandro Lopez; stepfather, Eduardo Aguillon; brother, Ivan Lopez; sister, Arely Aguillon; grandparents, Abelardo Huerta and Hermelinda Lopez Muñoz; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnulfa Rodriguez and Hermenegildo Lopez Borrego, and his aunt, Ninfa Huerta.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. On Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m., a Rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gainesville. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, where Eddie will be laid to rest.
