Elizabeth Jackson Obituary

Jackson, Elizabeth
KINDERHOOK - On May 10, 2025, we lost our beloved Liz, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Liz was born on May 19, 1958, at Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville, N.J., to Lucas Turi Sr. and Mary Turi (Guerino). She grew up in Nutley, N.J. and attended Yantacaw Elementary School, Franklin Junior High School, then graduated from Nutley High School, in June of 1976.
After graduating from Kean College in 1980, she embarked on a career in database administration. In 1986, Liz and her husband, Chris, moved to Upstate New York, eventually settling in Kinderhook, where they remained until her passing.
Among her many accomplishments were her invaluable contributions to the New York State Police and the New York State Public Safety Portfolio, where she worked for over 20 years. She generously volunteered at the Red Cross and local libraries.
Liz loved learning, reading, traveling and the arts, and her curiosity about the world and people never waned. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking and especially loved delicious desserts. Her smile and laughter brightened our days, and her sense of humor and quick wit were unparalleled.
Liz leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, Christopher Jackson; brothers, Albert and wife Barbara, Lucas Turi Jr. and wife Angela; Godchildren, Adrienne Turi and Michael Goglia; nieces, nephews, cousins and all who will hold her in their hearts forever.
Those wishing to remember Liz in a special way may make donations in her name to Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center, or a cause that is meaningful to you.
If you have any pictures of Liz you would like to contribute to her memorial, please email them to [email protected].

My Condolences to Liz Husband and entire family. I worked with Liz at NYSP. She always had a beautiful smile. Gone but never forgotten.

I first met Liz when I was assigned to oversee the integration of IT with the business operations of the New York State Police. From day one, she stood out-not just as a database administrator, but as the rare kind of professional who made complex systems understandable and every challenge I faced feel surmountable.

Liz became more than just a colleague. She became a cornerstone. A beautiful person inside and out, she was always eager to help-but more importantly, always ready to teach. Her insights were sharp, her intellect undeniable, and her smile just as bright as her mind.

Liz wasn´t just someone you could rely on; she was the one you wanted to rely on. She was my go-to techy-steadfast, grounded, and full of institutional wisdom. She gave me some of the best advice I´ve ever received, especially when I was inclined to fly too close to the sun. She didn´t just warn me about the lines I was about to cross-she helped me understand what crossing them would mean, and made sure I was prepared to own the consequences.

In truth, Liz did more for the State Police than some Troopers I´ve known. Her impact was marked, not by a shield, but by her heart. I was proud to serve beside her. Godspeed, Liz
