ELLEN SCHULTZ Obituary

SCHULTZ, Ellen M. (Benkis) Of South Boston, passed away at home, on June 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Ellen is survived by her husband of 59 years, James W. Schultz. Devoted mother of James W. Schultz, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Pembroke, Brian Schultz and his wife, Sandy of South Boston. Loving grandmother of Abigail, Kevin, James and Wyatt. Cherished sister of Michele Benkis of Brighton. Ellen attended St. Brigid's schools as a child and remained a lifelong devoted parishioner of that church. Ellen was also a longtime teacher and coordinator of the after-school program at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Jamaica Plain. Visitation at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., SOUTH BOSTON, on Monday, June 16, from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass at St. Brigid Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston, on Tuesday, June 17, at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ellen may be made to Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 and/or St. Brigid Parish, 841 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127.
