Obituary
Freddie Lee Jones was born in Greenville, Florida, on August 5, 1953, to the late Beatrice and Squire Jones, Jr. He was the second oldest of nine children. His oldest brother, Dean Jones preceded his arrival to heaven. Freddie took his humble bow on February 16, 2025, peacefully in his slumber at home.
Freddie graduated from Wm. J. Woodham High School and became an amazing mechanic. He was seeked after by everyone for their car repair needs. After a short time, he joined the United States Army, where he served in Europe as well as bases in the US.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted partner, Jessie Pettersen, a daughter Freddericka (George) Rodriguez, two sons Shawn (Tonette) Jones and Richard Curtis. Four brothers, Jeffery (Veronica) Jones, Franklin Jones, Henry (Angela) Jones, Jeryel (Linda) Jones. Three sisters, Katie (Terry) Jones-Green, Deborah (Clinton) Jones-Yates and Karen (Charles) Coleman. Six grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and sadden friends.
The family is honoring Freddies' wishes. Therefore, a memorial service is planned for his birthday, August 5, 2025, in lieu of a service at this time. We know there is a multitude of family members and friends that will want to attend. We will make an announcement once we have finalized the memorial.
We would like to thank you for your prayers, your kind thoughts and words of encouragement and assurance. We are blessed to have friends and family that so valued our brother and knew his heart. This is not an easy road to walk, but we know we must all walk it one day.
