Gary Frank Byrd Sr. was born on July 18, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He passed away on January 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories.
Gary was a devoted husband to his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Denise Kays Byrd, they were each others person. He is also the proud father to his children, Mitzi Lynn Byrd (Matthew), Gary Frank Byrd Jr. (Nichole), and Brian William Byrd (Christina). He also cherished his grandchildren, Chelsea Winn, Bryan, and Brittany, who brought him much joy during his life.
He was not only a family man but also enjoyed hobbies that brought him happiness. Gary loved hunting, riding motorcycles, target shooting, and holiday cooking. He also took great joy in collecting rifles.
Gary is survived by his brothers, Kenneth Byrd, Sr. (Lynda), Ronald Byrd (Cindy), Robert Byrd, and Jeff Byrd (Claire), who will carry on his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Park T. Byrd; his mother, Mae Mills Byrd; and his brother, Michael Byrd.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on February 8, 2025 from 11:00-1:00 at Lee Hill Baptist Church, located at 11007 Lee Settlement Rd, Folsom, LA 70437.
Gary Frank Byrd Sr. touched many lives, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
