George Douglas Wilson

March 28, 1949 - April 16, 2025

Raleigh, North Carolina - George Douglas Wilson (Doug), 76, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1949 in Raleigh, NC. Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Wilson; his father, George Wilson; his stepmother, Jeannine Wilson; and his brother, Mark Wilson.

Doug was attending Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC when he met his loving wife of 55 years, Sandy. After marrying Sandy in Simpsonville, SC, he began his career with Wilson-Finley Company where he served as president for over forty years.

Doug was passionate about NC State Athletics and was a loyal member of the Wolfpack Club for over fifty years. He enjoyed playing golf and joined Raleigh Country Club in 1979, where he formed many lasting friendships. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who was always there for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter, Charlotte Davis and her husband Jay; son, Jeff Wilson; grandsons, Weston and Austin Davis; sister, April Gillespie and her husband David; nieces, Meredith and Hannah Gillespie; and nephew, Ben Gillespie and his wife Rachel.

A private graveside service will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare: 919-828-0890 or https://www.transitionslifecare.org.
