James Newton Allen, age 90, of Big Sandy, TN passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Allen was born on May 12, 1934, in Big Sandy, TN to the late Jesse Allen and the late Mary Lucille Rayburn Allen. He was also preceded in death by sons, Jimmy Allen Jr. and Eddie Allen; brothers, Wayne Allen, Ray Allen, Roy Allen; sisters, Willie Mae French, Ruth Zartman, Kathleen Walter, Betty Mathis, and Wanda Hartley. Mr. Allen was a retired self-employed carpenter, and he attended the Big Sandy Church of God of Prophecy.
Survived by:
Wife: Vivian Albritton Allen of Big Sandy, TN
Daughters: Judy (Danny) Brandenburg of Big Sandy, TN and Debra (James) Davenport of Big Sandy, TN
Sister: Zelma Gross of Paris, TN
Daughter in laws: Debbie Allen and Sue Allen
Grandchildren: Jonathan (Sara) Allen, Jerrod (Madison) Allen, Amanda Leishea (Darron) Holman, Morgan (Sele) Martinez, Amanda Raylynn Brandenburg, Phillip (Colleen) Christopher
Great Grandchildren: Ainsley, Jameson, Elliott, Mikaela, Colton, Isabella, Zeke, Lexi, Kolten
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 PM and again on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 10:00-3:00 PM at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home, Big Sandy, TN.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 3 PM at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home Chapel, Big Sandy, TN with Bro. Cameron Berry officiating. Burial will follow in McRaes Chapel Cemetery.
