JAMES RICHARD COX
NEW HARMONY, INDIANA
James R. (Jim) Cox, 69, of New Harmony, Indiana, born November 25, 1955 to James William and Mary Aline (Effinger) Cox, went to heaven, with his sister by his side, Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Envive Healthcare in Evansville, Indiana.
Jim grew up farming with his father, their love of life. He loved traveling to the western state of Nevada, Arizona and Wyoming. He especially loved to go to Nashville to go to the Grand Ole Opry. He would travel to see the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels. Listening to Rock or Country music was one of his favorite pastimes. Later in life he worked at Azteca Milling for 22 years. When he was younger, 4H fairs was another of his pastimes, showing his Hogs and Horses in competition.
Surviving are his sister: Debbie Cox and several cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Werry Funeral Home in New Harmony, Indiana with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, in New Harmony, Indiana.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Thursday May 1, 2025 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Johnson United Methodist Church, PO Box 515, New Harmony, Indiana 47631.
