James A. Fisher, 85, of Dover, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, in New Dawn Rehabilitation Center, following a period of declining health.
Born in Goshen Township on April 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Willard and Ethel Faye (Lute) Fisher.
Jim lived most of his life in Tuscarawas County. He worked for 35 years for GTE-Verizon as a service technician. In his free-time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved to work in his yard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Ann (Redman) Fisher, whom he married on August 24, 1959; son, Craig (Eliza) Fisher of Ashland; daughter, Kimberly Fisher of Reynoldsburg; and grandchildren, Julia Fisher, and Zane (Korrinn) Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers, Michael Lanzer and Jeffrey Lanzer.
The family will greet guests on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be led by Pastor Rick Rose at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
