James E. Maloney, 96, of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Our House Memory Care in Chippewa Falls, surrounded by his loving family under the care of Interim Hospice of Western Wisconsin.
Jim was born December 2, 1928 in Phillips, WI, the son of Edmund James and Mona (Piper) Maloney. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. He served in Japan with the Army of Occupation.
On September 6, 1952, Jim married Evelyn Iverson at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.
Jim was a switchman/yardmaster for the Soo Line Railroad for many years. He was a member of Holy Ghost Church. Jim was a volunteer at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; two sons, Tim Maloney and Patrick (Debb Stoll) Maloney both of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Sue (Tony) Hebert of Chetek and Sara Maloney of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Judy McNamara of Chippewa Falls; sister-in-law, Gyda Nadreau; grandchildren, Brooke (Joel) Jacobson and Brandon Maloney; four great grandchildren, Will, Rachel, Megan and Katelyn Jacobson; and relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Alice Maloney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 23rd at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 23rd at the funeral home.

Oh Evie I´m so sorry to hear of Jim´s passing I´ll remember all the times I got to set and talk with him about his time with the railroad he was a sweet guy and loved talking about his work
