James Newman Obituary
James Ray Newman Sr, 78, of Borger passed away on May 4, 2025, in Borger. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. No services are scheduled currently.
James was born September 29, 1946, in Santa Cruz, CA to Georgia Ray and Ella Fay (Porter) Newman. Jim grew up in Whiteface where he excelled in sports and got voted best legs. He proudly served in the US Navy. He married Becky Sharp June 21, 1968, in Amarillo, TX. He owned Newman Heating and Air. He loved playing softball, fishing and watching his grandchildren's sports.
Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Linda Lee Newman and a half-brother Mikey Buckland.
Surviving is his loving wife Becky of the home; son, James Ray Newman Jr (better known as Bubba) and wife Currie of Rowlett, TX; daughter, Tami Boyer and husband Kiff of Borger; sister Susie Owens of CA; grandchildren, Gage Newman and wife K’Lyn, Logan Newman and fiancé Katie and Samuel Newman; great-grandchildren Raycen Newman and Cedar Newman; his schnauzer "Baby"; and many nieces and nephews.
