Janet Lynn Johnson was born June 26, 1958, to Edgar and Latrell Smith Johnson in Martin, South Dakota. She ascended into Heaven on June 30, 2025. Janet was their firstborn. Thereafter, a son, Duane, was born. Edgar and Latrell worked together for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as educators in Iowa and South Dakota.
In 1961, the family moved to San Antonio. Janet graduated from Highland High School in 1976. She received her B.A. degree in Business Administration from Houston Tillerson, May 1981. After graduation, she was employed by Washington Mutual Enterprise Customer Care Insurance Company, also USAA, London, England, as insurance specialist.
Janet grew up in a Christian household, so it is no surprise that she loved God and the church. The family were members of Ernest T. Dixon United Methodist Church. Janet was also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Latrell Johnson, and brother, Duane.
Mourning her departure, yet cherishing the beautiful memories of her love and devotion are:
Joyce Parker- devoted aunt and caretaker of Houston, Texas. Velma Johnson- aunt of Tyler, Texas. Cousins, Marcus Parker (Tina), Mayra Parker, Sharon Johnson (Thomas), Debra Pullum (Ron), Reggie Johnson, Mark Seabrook- Chicago, Illinois, Dwight Smith – San Diego, California, and a host of relatives and friends.
