Janice Gail Lawson

Janice Gail Lawson, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born on July 21, 1940, in Surprise, Nebraska, to Henry Franz and Minnie Janzen.
Janice's life was one of love, service, and dedication. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and had a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, working for many years in local doctors' offices. Janice's compassionate care and dedication to others touched the lives of all who knew her.
On September 29, 1962, Janice married Shelby D. Lawson Jr., with whom she shared a loving marriage for over 62 years. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Mike and Matt, and were blessed with two grandsons, Mark and Max. Janice's greatest joy was her family, and her love and devotion to them were unwavering.
Outside of her career and family, Janice had a passion for the arts. She was an avid supporter of the Bartlesville community theater and participated in many local plays. Her love for the stage was just one of the many ways she contributed to her community and enjoyed life.
Janice is survived by her husband, Shelby D. Lawson Jr.; sons Mike (Joanna) and Matt; grandsons Mark and Max; and many beloved family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Bartlesville First Methodist Church. Interment will take place at the same location following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite church or charity.
Janice will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her vibrant personality, and her profound impact on those around her.
She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
