Obituary of Jean L. Ginder
Jean L. Ginder, 87, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, April 26, 2025 at Legend Senior Living in Lititz. Born in Penn Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Martha P. Sangrey Oberholtzer. She was the wife of Marlin H. Ginder for 68 years on April 6.
A homemaker, Jean was a faithful member of Risser Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown where she was active with the sewing circle. She was also a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary, Lancaster Northwest Camp. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and painting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Larry E., husband of Sharon High Ginder, of Manheim, Fred L. Ginder of Marietta, Susan K., wife of Kevin Aldinger, of Hummelstown, Ray M., husband of Lisa Kauffman Ginder, of Manheim, Beverly A., wife of Steve DeRise, of Lititz, and Jeffery L., husband of Jessica Shenk Ginder of Richmond, VA; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three siblings, Jay R., husband of the late Rhoda Oberholtzer, of Lititz, Mary Anne, wife of Robert Gochnauer, of Lancaster, and Charles Oberholtzer of Brownstown; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Oberholtzer, of East Petersburg. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Clair Oberholtzer, Verna Merrick, Rhoda Burkholder, and Harry Oberholtzer, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Risser Mennonite Church, 8360 Elizabethtown Road, Elizabethtown, PA with Pastor Daryl Heistand officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining cemetery. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at an informal visitation at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
