Jerry Wilson Obituary

Jerry Lee Wilson, age 91, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025 at Carnegie Village Senior Living Community.
A Memorial will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Jerry was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 27, 1934 to Artie L. Wilson and Irene E. (Swope) Wilson. He graduated in 1952 from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO and retired after many years as an engineer at Bendix/AlliedSignal. Jerry was a motocross rider, avid water skier, small game/bird hunter and celebrated trap shooter who always found happiness on the golf course despite his score. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, playing cards (especially Gin Rummy), was a member of the Greenview Elks Lodge #2857 and supported his wife at productions with the Sunrise Beach Little Theatre. Jerry took special pride and enjoyment taking family and grandkids water skiing, fishing and boat riding at their home at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Jerry was preceded in death: by his parents, Artie and Irene Wilson; his first wife, Donna Lee (Frasher) Wilson; sister, Ann Loraine Edwards; son, Dennis Wilson; and his grandson Corbett Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Judith (Looney) Wilson; six sons, Greg Wilson (Anne), John Clark (Gina), Richard Wilson, Michael Clark (Angela), Brad Wilson, and Patrick Clark (Erika); thirteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to KU Cancer Center.

We just learned the news of Jerry´s passing this morning, as we were overlooking the lake. I suppose the stillness of the lake was the best spot to sit and remember Jerry.
He was the best neighbor you could ever ask for. He asked to put a thermometer in our house, so when he walked by, he knew there were no issues with our heater in the cold winters. When I walked up our big hill, I was always amazed that Jerry did this walk daily, as I barely survived my climb up. He was a great storyteller who always had a glint in his eye when talking about golf and of course, Judith. We met him and Judith and their friends out one night at a local Mexican restaurant. They all had us by 40 years or more, but their stories and laughter, still makes us smile. Jerry was a collector of people...He knew everyone and everyone simply loved Jerry.
Our sincerest condolences to Judith and their family. We are so blessed to have known him.

So sorry to hear about Jerry. He was a trusted lake neighbor and friend. Teri and I played many rounds of golf with Jerry and had a wonderful time. Sincere condolences to Judith and family.

Dear Wilson family,
We offer our condolences to the "godfather of the cove" down at lake of the ozarks. Jerry was always a joy to visit with on his porch or ours or in a ditch that needed a car towed out with his trailer. May all of us aspire to be a good a neighbor or friend as Jerry Wilson. God bless you Jerry & we are praying for Judy.
