Our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother Jimmie Carol Nelson, passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on January 21, 2025 at the age of 63.

Jimmie is preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Janet Baldridge, her father James Nelson and two of her sisters, Karen Nelson Curry and Marta Gail Nelson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kyle Pellegrini (Sujuan Guo), Vincenzo Pellegrini (Jennifer), and Elizabeth Hayes (Tyler). She will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren Drew Krtek, Anthony Pellegrini, Gracie Pellegrini, Charlie Pellegrini, Janet Pellegrini, Emerson Hayes and Henry Hayes as well as her sisters Sharon Nutt and Elizabeth Nelson Hunter and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who adore her.

Jimmie was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 25, 1961. She was raised in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Naples, Florida where she resided for 10 years. Her and her family later relocated to Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada for many years. Jimmie was the first in her family to graduate from University with a Bachelor's Degree. She received her degree in Psychology from Brock University while raising three children as a single mother. Upon receiving her degree, she went on to work and volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, where she created and pioneered the Choices Program, which very shortly took off on a national level within Canada. The Choices program focused on helping children to develop resilience and emotional regulation skills. The program was a hallmark of her parenting style which provided her children with a solid foundation of love, guidance and support. She later went on to work for the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy and later, Farmers Insurance where she made many good friends.

Jimmie was a passionate musician and singer/songwriter from a young age. She instilled her passion for music directly into her children’s hearts. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially when singing and playing music was involved. She has always been known for her kindness, love, empathy and genuinely comforting and supportive nature.

Jimmie touched the lives of all who knew her and will be remembered with great affection.
