It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Lone White, Sr., beloved Daddy and Papa, who passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, at the age of 85.
Papa Jimmy was a man of quiet strength and simple joys. He never sought the spotlight, yet he made a lasting impact on those around him through his generosity, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help others. If he believed you were in need, he wouldn't hesitate to offer the shirt off his back - without a second thought.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Harriet Jane O'Steen; his parents, Jacob Pierce "J.P." White and Edna Thrift Corbitt; and his two brothers, William Jack White, Sr. and James Randall "Randy" White. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ernest "Ernie" Cole, Sr.
He is survived by his two children, Jimmy "Jimbo" Lone White, Jr. and Marsha White Cole; his two grandsons, Ernest "Ernie" Lee Cole (Dana) and Harold Jacob "Jake" Cole; and five great-grandchildren: Drake Nolan Cole, Madison Grace Cole, Brinlee Faith Cole, Addilynn Kelly Cole, and Analeigh Jane Cole. His smile was never brighter than when he was surrounded by his great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Virginia Dale Hill (Bobby), and many beloved nieces and nephews from both the White and O'Steen families.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30, at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jimmy's memory to Grace's House at Callahan First Baptist Church.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
