Joe C. Smith, 79, of London, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at home.
Born April 8, 1946, in Lawrence County, Kentucky; he was a son of Jay Burton and Virginia Ruth (Carroll) Smith.
Joe was the owner/operator of Joe Smith Plumbing in London for several decades. A member of Aerie #950, FOE and the Madison County Senior Center; he was an avid pool player, lover of animals, and enjoyed his garden. Spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him the most joy of all.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 28 years Charla (Poole) Smith; children Joanna Lynn (Lee) Sinclair, Angela Faye (Jamie) Pagliaro and Jay Andrew (Carrie) Whitaker; grandchildren Brianna, Chelsie (Dalton), Kaleigh, Kloee, Jackson and Jillian; great-grandchildren Maizie, Karson, Beau and one on the way!; siblings J. Keith Smith, Glenna Smith and Randy C. (Marjie) Smith; many nieces and nephews and his Fur Baby Annie Girl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters in law Gene (Sara), Jack (Rethal)and Jim (Dot)Smith, nephews Scotty Smith and Cody Smith, several beloved pets.
A funeral service was held Friday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Kentucky.
Memorials in Joe's name may be made to the Madison County Humane Society, 2020 State Route 142 NE, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162.
