John E. Davis passed away on April 3, 2025, in Mishawaka, at the age of 62. Born on February 2, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana.
John grew up in a lively household, the son of Charles Davis and Pat Bickel. He was a brother to Chuck, Richard, and Gary, and held dear memories of his late sister, Sandra. John's life was further enriched when he married his soulmate, Shelly Black, on September 5, 2001, in his hometown. Along with his wife he is survived by their three daughters, Melissa Davis, Patricia Black, and Maralynn (Tyler) Mitchell, and four adoring grandchildren; Edward, Destiny, Aurora, and Clark who were the light of his life. John was preceded in death by his father, Charles and sister, Sandra.
For over three decades, John dedicated his skills and passion to the automotive industry, working as a technician with Gurley Leep. John's professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Outside of work, John was an avid fisherman and bowler, finding joy and relaxation in these pursuits. He also embraced the digital age with a fondness for video games, often engaging in playful competition on his phone. However, his greatest pleasure was found in the time he spent with his grandchildren and family. Whether it was a quiet afternoon fishing, a spirited game of bowling, or simply being surrounded by his loved ones, these moments were the ones he treasured most.
John's presence was a source of stability and warmth for his family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In keeping with family wishes, cremation will take place, and no formal services will be held. Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
