John Randall "Randy" Morgan, aged 60, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Victoria. He was born on July 18, 1964, in Alice, Texas, to Donald Morgan and the late Joann Zurovetz.
Randy was family man. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grand children. His sons, Jake and Collin, have many fond memories of hunting at the many deer leases they had. Bow hunting was something he enjoyed and passed on the love to his sons. His love for cooking was something he and Caitlin shared. Randy often cooked for many people whenever given the opportunity. He didn't know how to cook in small portions. His meals were always large and cooked with a lot of love. An annual thanksgiving oyster cook off competition was started in 2017. Randy and Caitlin loved to try many different types of food that everyone else thought were strange.
Randy and Laura recently purchased land and he was there almost daily working on it. His grandkids were his pride and joy. Randy loved playing with them on the dirt piles at the land, taking them for tractor rides, and chasing them around. He cherished his time spent with them. Randy never turned them down for a sleepover and made the largest bubble baths for the girls. In addition to his love for family and cooking, he was a devout Catholic. He loved the Lord and gave generously of his time to the church and it's missions. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and ACTS. He used his time and talents to serve others as often as he could and would many time put others before himself. His kindness and selflessness are some of the many things he will be remembered for. For the majority of his career, Randy worked as a plant operator. Most recently he was employed by Enterprise Products and he thought of his coworkers as family, especially Alec.
To honor his memory, Randy is survived by his wife, Laura Morgan; father, Donald Morgan; mother in law, Mary Wagner; his daughter, Caitlin Smeltzer (Michael); his sons, Jake Morgan (Kimberly) and Collin Morgan (Kelly); his siblings, Cindy Vecera (Allen) and Larry Morgan (Tracy); grandchildren, Audrey, Jude, Evelyn, Hudson, Meredith, Azure, Woodson, Hattie; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Zurovetz; and his siblings, Tommy Morgan, Donnie Morgan, stepmom, Doris Morgan and father in law; Willie Wagner.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM, at Grace Funeral Home, located at 2401 Houston Hwy, in Victoria. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Victoria, followed by a burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Meyersville.
