In Loving Memory of Jorge Luis Castro September 10, 1968 – October 11, 2025

Jorge Luis Castro, 57, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, after a courageous battle, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Born in Holguín, Cuba, and raised on La Isla de la Juventud, Jorge brought warmth, wit, and an unmistakable zest for life wherever he went. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting but found his true joy and pride in the open road, working as a dedicated driver for Ferguson Enterprises. Jorge loved discovering new and interesting places, and driving wasn't just his job — it was his way of experiencing the world.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Luxmi Castro; his devoted mother, Georgina Soto; his loving siblings, Iris Castro and Pedro Castro; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Dailiana Zayas, Gynna Castro, Anabelle Castro, Hector Castro, and Lachy Crespo.

Jorge had a heart as big as his sense of humor. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke, a smile, or an unsolicited music recommendation (usually Bruce Springsteen). He insisted that his music was “the good stuff,” and there wasn’t a single food YouTube video he wouldn’t analyze like a Michelin critic. A passionate soccer fan, especially of Lionel Messi, Jorge could turn any game into an event.

Those lucky enough to know Jorge will remember him for his generosity, his resilience, and yes — his award-worthy eyelashes and eyebrows, which he proudly flaunted every year as the reigning champion of the unofficial Time’s Most Beautiful Eyelashes and Eyebrows Award. He never took himself too seriously, but he took care of others with unwavering strength and love.

He will be missed dearly and was the strongest man his family knew. No words can truly express how much he meant to his family and friends. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.

If you have any special messages for the family, please place them in the guest book below for the family to cherish.
