Joyce Angove, 58, of Grimes (formerly of Knoxville), passed away on September 6, 2025, at West Ridge Specialty Care. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Bingley Building at Knoxville Raceway on November 1st, at 1:00 p.m. – 4:00p.m. in Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.

Born on April 13, 1967, in Knoxville to Larry and Karen Angove, Joyce grew up surrounded by family and graduated with the Knoxville High School Class of 1985. After graduation, she spent several years as a nanny on the East Coast and in Hawaii before moving to Kearney, Nebraska. She later settled in the Des Moines area, where she worked for Walmart, then built a career at Wells Fargo in the mortgage and loan department, and eventually with various insurance companies.

Joyce had many passions in life. She loved baking. Her chocolate chip cookies were legendary, and her signature dish was Chicken Curry. She had a gift of finding excellent treasures at garage sales. If you needed something she was known to track it down for you. One of her proudest acts of generosity was supplying enough books to West Elementary so that every student received one as a prize. This was an unforgettable gift that brought joy to an entire school.

She will be remembered for her genuine warmth, kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. Joyce's caring nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Most of all, Joyce loved to visit and care for her family or friends. If you were her friend she loved and cared for you deeply, as she did with all her family. She could really hold her own and had a talented way of making people laugh no matter how serious the situation would be. Her beloved cats were her world, constant companions, and she was just as devoted to the pets of others, often spoiling them as if they were her own. Joyce's spirit of kindness, humor, and love will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Joyce is survived by her father Larry, brother, Steve (Diane), Angove, sister, Laura Carlson, her many nieces and nephews, her loyal cats Finnegan and Tucker, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her mother Karen Angove.
