Julie Beth Joseph Koop, born on May 22, 1953, in Los Angeles, CA, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2025. Julie was the beloved daughter of Carmen Cable and the late Harry Joseph. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 38 years, Ken Koop, residing in Fresno, and her son John Griffin and his wife Heather, who live in Helendale, CA. Julie was a cherished grandmother to Misty, Tyler, Logan, and Tristan, and a great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.
Julie is also survived by her sisters, Linda Duncan of Fresno and Toni Vanderwege and her husband Chuck of San Jose, as well as her brother Greg Joseph and his wife Tina of Parker, Colorado. She was a loving sister-in-law to Grace and Ray of Fresno, Sharon and Mike of Tracy, and Nadine and Robert of Fresno. Julie's extended family includes nine nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Susan Dusi.
Growing up in West Covina and Big Bear Lake in southern California, Julie graduated from Big Bear Lake High School in 1971, where she was actively involved in school activities, including the Ski Team, Song Leader, and was crowned Big Bear Lake Snow Queen. Julie had a successful career in the stocks and bonds industry, retiring from Wells Fargo Advisors after 22 years of dedicated service.
Julie was a devoted Christian, deeply committed to her faith. She was actively involved in Northwest Church Special Needs, teaching Sunday School for many years. Her passion for helping others extended to her participation in Prison Fellowship and mentoring in the Timothy Program, where she led many to know and follow Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
