Kenneth "Ken" Tschudy, 72 of Stevens Point, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 19th, 2025 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. Ken was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on May 24th 1953 to Christine (Thompson) Tschudy and Albert Tschudy. He was the second oldest in a family of five.
Ken graduated from high school in Antigo, WI. While in high school he enjoyed playing football and did so for a short time in college. During the summer he attended YCC camps where he enjoyed working outside. While growing up he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and some close family friends. Hunting was an interest that continued through out his lifetime.
During Ken's college days he joined the Siasifi organization. He was very involved with this group eventually becoming its president. Today some of his best friends are the men he met in this group.
During college he enjoyed helping others and did coaching for football in neighboring high schools.
Ken's career took an unexpected turn as instead of pursing a teaching career, he joined the Portage County Sheriffs Dept. He was employed with them for 30 years, retiring as a sergeant. During this time he was employed as a on the road deputy, "Officer Friendly" for the Amherst area, and a detective. He often would laugh and say how he enjoyed telling young juveniles, "Don't give me that line, I know all of the tricks from when I was younger." During this time period he got specialized training in skin diving recovery and on the swat team. Through this experience he gained some true friends who were with him through the good times and the hard times of life.
One of the organizations Ken enjoyed supporting while an officer was the Special Olympics state athletic event in Stevens Point. He was so proud of the athletics and their excitement in participating in the events.
Ken began teaching Police Science at the Mid-State Technical College. He believed in mentoring people to go into law- enforcement fields.
Ken's dream was to live in the country and to have a spot to enjoy nature and to hunt. He achieved that dream with his place in rural Junction City. He enjoyed sharing the hunting space with his good friend Johnnie and students from the university who wanted to hunt.
Ken and his good friend Bud Pride bought a house outside of Silver City Michigan. Ken loved going up to the north shore. He enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the north. He was always eager to share that experience with his family, who appreciated it.
Once in the Junction City area he met Jim Vitort and developed his love of horses. He got his own horses which he enjoyed riding. He enjoyed helping Jim out with wagon rides. His Thursday nights were devoted to the music and comradeship at his farm.
After retiring from the Sheriffs Dept. Ken joined the Junction City Turkey Hunt. He loved seeing disabled hunters have the opportunity to hunt.
Family was important to him and this was especially true after he retired and had more time on his hands.
In the last few years he got back in touch with a high school girlfriend Julie Adams Meyer. They were able to support each other and to develop a strong relationship. They had lots of dreams for their future, unfortunately this was cut short with his illnesses and death.
Ken is survived by his fiancée Julie Adams Meyer, Junction City, WI. Margi Stauss (Ken Stauss), Ted Tschudy (Sheryl), Marilyn Dehnert (Dave Rasmussen), brother- in- law Steve Sisul, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Family who are deceased are his dad, Albert Tschudy, his mom Christine Tschudy, his sister Janet Sisul, and is niece Lindsay Dehnert.
A Service of Remembrance will be held for Ken at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 27th at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Rd, Plover. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home on Friday. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Tschudy Family.

Julie and Tschudy family. My sincere condolences to the loss of Kenneth. A lot of memories of corresponding with Kenneth about the Junction City youth turkey hunt when he had me do electrical work remodeling their bathroom and kitchen at their Town of Carson farm. I always enjoyed him explaining the different types of flora and fauna that are around the area of which I learned something about. Thank you for the memories! Kenneth, thank you for your service to the Portage County Wisconsin Sheriff's Department. May God (Boze) rest his soul. I will remember him in my prayers. Phil J Janowski, Town of Hull, Portage County, WI.
