LT James Leonard Banks, age 68 passed away Monday June 16th, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 9th, 1957 to Belvagene and James Banks. James went to Crispus Attucks high school and studied Business Administration and Criminal Justice at Ashworth college. James served in the Navy for 12 years and was a Police Lieutenant for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He spent years serving our country before retiring as a Police officer in Philadelphia.
James enjoyed doing any and everything outdoors, including fishing. James loved watching football every Sunday. He cheered on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts. James enjoyed being around friends and family over anything.
James' memory lives on through his wife, Diana Chaffin Banks; Children, Christina Woolerton and Jason Banks; Stepson, William Chaffin (Lauren Spainhower); Sisters, Leslie Banks-Spence, Tammy Heady and Penny Lewark;
James is preceded in death by his parents Belvagene and James Banks, his sister Paula Miller and his son Daniel Banks.
