Marcus Archelle Washington departed this life in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the age of 51. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Avondale, LA (Kennedy Heights), and presently residing in Laplace, LA. Marcus was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School. He was employed as laborer with ADM ARTCO Shipyard. Beloved husband of Shawanda Petty Washington. Devoted father of Marchelle Washington Bryan Washington, and Torica Joseph; bonus father of Jordyn, Maegan, and Darren Jefferson. Cherished grandfather of Arzari Washington. Loving son of Cephus Washington and the late Mary Louise Washington. Brother of Raynell (Wanda) Thomas, Byron Thomas, Cephus Washington, Jr., Natasha Danielle Washington, Debra Washington, Atressa W. (William) Sanders, and the late Nikita Denise Washington and Johnie Mae Washington. Uncle of the late Ta’Shay Simmons. Marcus is also survived by his godchildren Darriona Nickerson, Kevin Anderson, Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Living Word Family Worship Center, Fischer Community Church and all neighboring churches; employees of ADM ARTCO Shipyard are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown, host pastor; Pastor Darion Gray, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
