Margaret Ruth Davis Broome, 72 years old, of Wake Forest, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2025. Margaret was born in Harnett County North Carolina on April 21, 1953, to the late Joseph Edgar Davis and Laura Ayers Davis.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. After retiring from over 30 years of dedicated service with the state government, she embraced her favorite role, being a full-time grandma.
A faithful servant of Christ, she was a long time, active member of Woodland Baptist Church, where she served in many roles including secretary and treasurer, deacon, Sunday school teacher and Bible Drill leader. She found great joy and fellowship in her Joy Sunday School class and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Her passion for serving others touched countless lives, and her kindness and compassion made her a beloved friend to many.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 41 years, Arnold "Dick" Broome; her daughter, Laura Ryan (Stephen); her granddaughter Ashtyn Ryan; her grandson Connor Ryan; her stepson, Richard Wayne Broome (Mary); her brothers, Joseph Davis (Ruth) and Art Davis (Janet); her sister, Laura "Jean" Farlow and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 4-5pm at Woodland Baptist Church, 190 Woodland Church Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587. A memorial service will follow at 5pm with Rev. Dr. Steve McKinion and Rev. Al Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Woodland Baptist Church building fund in Margaret's memory.
