Funeral services for Margaret Elaine Davis, age 101 of Longview, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating. An interment will follow at the Lindale City Cemetery.
Elaine passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at her home in Longview. She was born June 23, 1923, in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Louis Amos and Lela Elvira (Mathis) Franks. Elaine has resided in Longview for the past 5 years and was previously a longtime resident of Lindale. Elaine met Clayburn when he returned from WWII after a short courtship they married. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with extended family going on vacations throughout the USA. They were active members of Mt Sylvan Baptist Church in Lindale and loved their church family and especially wanted all family and friends to know the Lord Jesus as Savior. She lived her life as a loving Homemaker and in her spare time enjoyed reading, particularly her Bible, sewing, word search, watching Wheel of Fortune, the outdoors, and spending time with her beloved family. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Clayburn Bailey Davis; son, Clifford Joseph Davis; daughter, Martha Eloise Jordan; son-in-law, Bobby Rawlings; grandson, Matthew Brent Grady, and 3 brothers.
Elaine is survived by children, Diane Rawlings of Longview; Barbara Grady and husband, John of Lindale, and Judy Alexander and husband, Eddy of Lindale; sisters, Christine Nelson of Houston and Olene Bateman of Lindale; son-in-law, James Ralph Jordan of Lindale; 10 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. We would love to express our thanks to Emily, Melissa and Dora for your love and helping hands. Serving as pallbearers will be great grandsons, Craig Dixon, Eric Dixon, Chad McDonald, Jordan Blue, Jerod Blue and Conner Elliott.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service and has asked that contributions be made to the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church Building Fund.
