It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marion Frances Byrd.
Marion Frances McGill Byrd was born on January 17, 1948, to the late James and Gladys McGill in the charming town of Havana, Florida. She began her spiritual journey early in life, accepting Christ and becoming a devoted member of the St. James Primitive Baptist Church, where she nurtured her faith and formed meaningful community connections.
She began her academic journey at Havana Northside High School, located in the vibrant community of Havana, Florida, before relocating to the sunny coastal city of Pompano Beach, Florida. After making the transition, she completed her high school education at Blanche Ely High School, graduating in the class of 1965.
In pursuit of new opportunities and experiences, in the midst of Marion relocating to Pompano Beach, Florida. There, she found a new spiritual home as a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she actively participated in church activities and contributed to the vibrant congregation.
Driven by a passion for learning, she continued her education at Broward College, where she diligently worked towards her degree. With her newfound knowledge and expertise, she embarked on a fulfilling career at North Broward Hospital. There, she dedicated an impressive 35 years of her life to the role of a dietitian, contributing significantly to the health and well-being of countless patients. After decades of service, she celebrated her retirement, leaving behind a legacy of care and commitment to the field of nutrition.
After some time, Marion returned to her roots in the Tallahassee area, where she once again sought solace and community in her faith. She became an integral part of the St. John Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership Pastor McArthur Knight. She continued her lifelong dedication to her spiritual beliefs and the church community

Celebration Of Life will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 07, 2025 at Kingdom Life Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Havana FL.
