Surrounded by her loving children and extended family, Maryanne (Varnes) Catanese peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord on June 10, 2025. Born on August 11, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida, Maryanne was the beloved daughter of the late Henry Calvin Sr. and Hattie Mae (Wasson) Varnes.
A woman of strong faith, Maryanne was a devoted member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Middleburg, Florida. She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in the fellowship of her church community. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Maryanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawerence Antonio Catanese Sr. and her siblings: Frederick C. Varnes, Henry C. Varnes Jr., Martha Florrie Varnes, and Gladys Opal Varnes.
She is survived by her three children: Lawrence A. Catanese Jr., Randal L. Catanese, and Crystal Catanese Agnew; her son-in-law, Brandon Agnew; and her beloved grandchildren: Abbie, Shelby, Paige, her grandson- in- law, Tayler Dillon.
She is also survived by her sisters Candy Varnes (McCall) and Pauline Rosena Varnes, her brother Thomas C. Varnes, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Friday, June 13, 2025 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Padgett officiating,
Maryanne's legacy of faith, love and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
