In Loving Memory of Melissa Jean Crowder
August 28, 1969 – June 10, 2025 Loved Deeply. Laughed Occasionally. Lived Her Way.
With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Melissa Jean Crowder, a one-of-a-kind woman whose life was filled with highs, lows, and the kind of realness that left a mark on everyone who knew her. Melissa passed unexpectedly at home on June 10, 2025, with Gerald right there by her side.
She is survived by Gerald Beaudoin, her rock and partner through thick and thin. Though not married, their bond was stronger than most vows. Gerald was her steady hand, her patient listener, her protector, and her biggest supporter. He was always there not just in the good moments, but through every challenge, heartbreak, and uphill climb. Melissa loved Gerald deeply, and it was clear to everyone around her. Whether they were sitting in silence, sharing a laugh, or simply being in the same room, she felt safe with him. Their love was real, raw, and lasting a true example of being there for someone, no matter what.
Melissa was the daughter of Norma Crowder and the late Clifford Crowder, and the sister of Gary Crowder and Dale Crowder. She also shared family ties with her half-siblings: Clifford Jr., Tommy, Eddy, and Karen.
She and her brothers Gary and Dale fought like cats and dogs sometimes loud, stubborn, and always trying to prove who was right but underneath it all, there was a deep love that never wavered. The arguments were real, but so was the loyalty. No matter what, her love for her siblings ran deep and true.
Melissa also had a special connection with her half-brother Clifford Jr., and one of the fondest (and funniest) memories tied to their bond came when Melissa was a teenager. In classic Melissa fashion, she made the bold decision to run away from Texas all the way to Tennessee and Clifford Jr. and his wife Phyllis helped her pull it off. Whether they were just going along with it or secretly cheering her on, they made sure she had a place to land. That trip became a legendary story in the family, one that perfectly captured her wild spirit, stubborn streak, and the deep trust she had in those who loved her. It was just one of many moments that showed how fiercely she lived and how much she valued the ones who stood by her side.
> "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
Melissa was the mother of four children: Deven, Thomas, Rebecca, and Candice. Though life brought its share of struggles, she gave what she could, when she could, and in her own unique way. She did her best with the cards she was dealt, and her children will carry both her grit and her love forward.
Melissa also carried the deep heartache of losing her son Deven, born in 1988, who passed in his twenties. That pain never left her, but neither did the love she held for him every single day.
One of Melissa's greatest joys was being a grandmother. She cared deeply for her grandchildren Kobe, Acadia, and Lil John, each of them holding a special place in her heart.
Though she never got the chance to meet Acadia in person, they shared sweet moments over FaceTime, and Melissa always lit up when talking to her. She lovingly called her "my butterfly," and often spoke of how much she looked forward to the day they'd finally meet.
She adored Kobe, who brought energy and laughter into her world, and she cherished Lil John, whose smile could soften even her toughest days. Her grandkids brought out her most tender side each one a reminder of how much love her heart could hold, even when words didn't always say it.
Melissa loved to fish. It was one of her favorite ways to relax, think, and just enjoy the quiet.
Melissa had a unique gift for making people feel at home. She had a comeback for everything and a look that said more than words but somehow still made you feel loved. Her presence didn't always bring calm, in fact, she was usually the storm but at least you always knew where she stood. Although she made mistakes like we all do, she never stopped giving her whole heart. You'd find yourself raising your voice and repeating things with a smile, knowing that even if she didn't catch every word, she always caught the feeling and responded in her own unforgettable way.
Melissa's heart was big enough to hold many, and there were countless people in her life who meant the world to her. Among those who held an extra special place were Gary and Shasta Crowder, along with their daughters Chanda and Kayla, and their three little ones; Zebadiah, Maliyah, and Chaziah Crowder. She loved Joseph and Melissa Crowder and their daughter Destiny, and she carried a soft spot for Krista Crowder and her husband Coby, along with their children Aubree, William, and Maverick.
She also cherished Clifford Jr. and Phyllis Crowder's family, including Tracy Crowder, and Cameron and Jason Crowder. Other beloved extended family members include; Karen Tinney, Mary Jones, Barbara Meads, Connie Bevers, Janice Fails, Jackie and Keith Randal, Ricky Price, Krystal Price, Peggy Hargrove, Charlotte Carson, Jeffrey Carson, Jeremy Carson, and Sara Truer.
Each one added something beautiful to her journey, and she held them in her heart with love and gratitude.
A Celebration of Melissa's Life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 6:30 PM. Location: 100 Tugaloo Drive,
Loudon, TN 37774
In her memory, we ask you to live boldly, laugh a little more often, and love with your whole heart just like she did in the moments that mattered most.
