Michael Tucker Obituary

Michael F. Tucker passed away on June 12, 2025 with his loving wife, Frances, at his side following a long rehabilitation after a fall. Mike was born in Bryan, Texas in 1952 and is predeceased by his parents, Jesse F. and Elizabeth F. Tucker, nee Fields. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances, nee Marino, of 22 incredible years and when he held her hand he held her heart.

He also leaves behind his sister, Pamela Tucker of San Antonio, Texas as well as many sisters- and brothers-in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Michael will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his generosity in helping others less fortunate than himself. His final act of generosity was volunteering to be an organ donor. He was an author, collector, historian, mentor and a friend to many.

Michael was part of a multi-generational military family whose members defended against the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor and saw service in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Europe. After he himself volunteered and served two years in the U.S. Army, he attended Texas A & M University earning his Bachelor’s degree in History. He went on to use his love of history, his military experience and his love of his country to write, co-author and design nine books in the military genre. His most notable books include “Combat Infantryman Badges 1943-1975”, and “History on Their Shoulders, Unit Insignia of the Vietnam War.” He will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
