Michael Wright Obituary
He was born May 6, 1945 to Leonard "Ted" E. and Lelia M. (Wallace) Wright in Springfield, Missouri.
Mike married Allene Wilson Phillips on December 27, 1970.
Mike's pursuit of knowledge led him to achieve a Doctorate of Osteopathy from the University of Health Sciences, which he applied with diligence and dedication throughout his career. Before practicing medicine, he worked as a certified public accountant at Elmer Fox Westheimer from 1972-1979. Ultimately, his passion for healing guided him to a fulfilling career with C&W Anesthesia from 1988-1991 and Mosaic Life Care from 1991 until his retirement in 2017.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mike was an avid aviator, whose joy was found soaring the skies and restoring old planes. His adventurous spirit was equally matched by his love for travel, exploring new places and cultures. He also had a love for animals, especially his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lelia R. Wright; siblings, Donald G. Wright, Barbara J. Wright Hoss, and Ted W. Wright.
Survivors include his wife; children, Michael G. Wright (Jan), Terzah A. Wright, and Ted W. Wright; grandchildren, Michael P. Wright, Ted W. Wright, and Henry A. Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at St. Joseph Memorial Park. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph or the Young Eagles Program, please make check to EAA Chapter 1479 SkyRiders and note in memory of Mike Wright.
