Myra Lynn Garrett, age 60, passed from this life on Friday, February 28, 2025 in Amarillo.
The family will receive guests Monday evening, March 3, 2025, from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Angel Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Miles of Trinity Fellowship officiating.
From her earliest days, Myra embodied the spirit of compassion and care, a gift that illuminated her path through life. She possessed a remarkable ability to perceive the needs of others, both human and animal alike, which naturally guided her toward a noteworthy career in nursing.
On the joyous day of March 20, 1982, coinciding with the first day of spring, Myra married Jack Garrett, not only her beloved partner but her best friend. Together, they nurtured a love that flourished through the seasons and would last over four decades. They celebrated the joy of raising two children, Bo and Amber, creating a warm and loving family that stands as a testament to their enduring commitment to one another.
Family was at the very heart of Myra's life, a reflection of her warm spirit and her unwavering devotion. Her love for her family was only matched by her love for the Lord, which guided her every step. Myra's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever be an example of a life well lived.
Myra was the epitome of selflessness, dedicating her life to the well-being of her family and beloved pets, as well as to the countless souls she encountered. Her unwavering commitment to caregiving was further exemplified through her volunteer work with various pet rescues. Upon her retirement from nursing, she joined the staff of La Chateau where she worked for ten years. It was there that Myra continued to express her nurturing spirit by caring for the pets of others, a testament to her enduring love for every creature. She lived an extraordinary life and will be remembered for her nurturing hands and generous heart that touched the lives of so many.
She was preceded in death by her fur babies Molly, Rosalee, Twinkie, Marley, Shania, Honey, Angel, Buddy, and Brody.
Myra is survived by her husband, Jack; her daughter Amber Yeadon and her husband Ryan of Wyoming; her son Bo Garrett of Dallas; her father, Gary Cannon; her sister Lisa Cannon of Richardson; her two precious grandchildren, Kyan and Tenley Yeadon; and by her sweet rescues, Ginger and Scooby .
