Nina Jane Reed, 91, of Paris, Arkansas, died Thursday April 24, 2025, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston, Arkansas. Viewing & visitation with the family will be 9:00 AM, Tuesday, March 29, 2025, at Humphrey Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Artie Hudson. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, Arkansas, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The daughter of John and Verna (Daniels) Stewart, Nina was born July 21, 1933, in Pottsville, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Jimmie Lee Reed, on November 3, 1951. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years; two brothers, J.W. Stewart and Bobby Wade Stewart; a son, Jimmy Michael Reed; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Reed.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Cindy and James Corley of Charleston, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Michael Reed (Roxie) of Paris, Arkansas, Brandon Corley (Jessica) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Becca Corley­ Foust (Tyler) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Mason Reed (Melinna) of Paris, Arkansas; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Stewart of Benton, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.
Nina was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for 57 years. She worked for Kroger for many years until the store closed in 1980. She then worked in the Logan County Collectors office, was a substitute teacher at Paris Schools, and was a volunteer at the Paris Boys and Girls Club and Paris Chamber of Commerce. She loved cooking and preparing home cooked meals for family, friends, and especially her church family. She also loved flowers and working in her yard.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Mercy Hospital in Paris, Mercy Home Health Care, and Greenhurst Nursing Center for their incredible care and support provided.
