Norma L. Fry, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on January 23, 2025, in Rockwall, Texas. Born on June 11, 1934, in Clinton, Oklahoma, Norma was the treasured daughter of Edward Steigman and Rosina (Weil) Steigman. Her life was a testament to the power of devotion, both to her family and to her many passions.
On January 17, 1962, Norma married the love of her life, Ranor Fry, in Dimmitt, Texas. Their union was blessed with an abundance of love and the birth of their son, Jason Fry. Norma's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandson, Alston R. Fry, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She was a bedrock of support and a wellspring of wisdom for her family, embodying the roles of both a nurturing mother and a doting grandmother with grace and tenderness.
Norma's brothers and sisters, who preceded her in death, shared in the warm glow of her love during their time together. Her family remembers her as a cornerstone of their lives, someone who could always be relied upon for guidance, comfort, and an unyielding sense of support.
Professionally, Norma's life was marked by her dedication and commitment. Her marriage to Ranor was not only a personal milestone but also a partnership that thrived on mutual respect and shared values. Norma's intellectual curiosity and love of learning were evident in her extensive reading habits. She found solace and strength in the pages of her Bible, which she read regularly, drawing upon its teachings to navigate life's challenges and to share wisdom with those she loved.
Norma's interests reflected her love for the natural world and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she would spend countless hours tending to her flowers and shrubs, creating a haven of beauty and tranquility that reflected her inner spirit. Her hands, often soiled with earth from her garden, were a symbol of her commitment to nurturing growth and life in all its forms.
Those who knew Norma would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and intelligent. Her loving nature was the thread that wove her family together, creating a tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever. Her faith was as steadfast as it was profound, guiding her through life's trials and tribulations with an unwavering belief in the goodness of people and the grace of the divine. Her intelligence was a light that shone brightly, illuminating the paths of those around her and inspiring them to seek knowledge and understanding.
