Patricia Eileen Koch-Zangle, known affectionately as Pat to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at the age of 77 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Born on January 13, 1948, in Woodruff, Wisconsin, to the late Margaret Adele Zangle and Leo Zangle, Pat's life was one marked by warmth, creativity, and a sparkling sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her.
Pat's early years in Woodruff were filled with the bustling energy of a large family, including her late siblings Margaret "Peggy" Hershey, Barbara J Ehr, James J Zangle, Ann M Miller, and Kathryn A Nelson. She cherished her time with her surviving siblings, Georgia L Deasel, Micheal J Zangle, and Gerald Zangle, as well as her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.
A devoted wife and mother, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L Koch Sr. Together they raised two wonderful children, Kathryn Vanderpool-Koch and Robert L Koch Jr., who will remember her as a loving and kind-hearted mother, always ready with a laugh and a helping hand.
Throughout her life, Pat was known for her skilled hands and creative spirit. She found joy in sewing and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that will serve as lasting tokens of her love and talent. Her sharp mind was often put to the test with puzzles of all kinds, and she was a formidable opponent in cribbage, a game she played with competitive glee.
Those who knew Pat will remember her as the embodiment of love and kindness. Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor never failed to lift the spirits of those around her. She had a unique way of making everyone feel special and loved, and her presence was a comforting light in the lives of her family and friends.
Pat's journey was one of resilience and grace, even as she faced the challenges of lung cancer. Her courage and positivity in the face of adversity were an inspiration to all who were privileged to stand by her side during those times.
As we say goodbye to Patricia Eileen Koch-Zangle, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on through the memories we hold dear and the stories we will continue to share. Rest in peace, dear Pat, until we meet again.
