Patsy F. Rhodes, a beloved resident of Turlock, California, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on March 17, 1935, in Andmore, Oklahoma and moved to California at a young age. Patsy attended local schools and graduated from Turlock High School in 1953. In high school, she met the love of her life, Raydean Rhodes. On May 1, 1954, she married Raydean in Turlock, and they shared a loving marriage for 70 years. Patsy worked as a nurse's aide before dedicating 25 years to the library at Turlock Public Schools, a job she truly loved.
In her younger years, Patsy found great joy in sewing outfits for her grandchildren. She also had a passion for gardening, collecting chickens, shopping, and playing cards with friends. She and Raydean enjoyed traveling in their RV and camping with their RV group. Above all, she cherished her family. Her grandchildren lovingly called her "Mema." Patsy was a loving and dedicated mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church in Turlock.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Juanita Mitchell; her siblings, Eddie Mitchell, Bonnie Koltun, and Tommy Mitchell; her daughter, Terry Mensonides; her son-in-law, Jim Mensonides; her brothers-in-law, Chester Rhodes and Stan Koltun; and her in-laws, Orde and Rosie Rhodes.
She is survived by her husband, Raydean Rhodes; her children, Larry (Laura) Rhodes and Rhonda "Shell" (Patrick) Tapee; her grandchildren, Robert Mensonides, Kevin Mensonides, Amber Young, Ryan Mensonides, Sam Bratton, Mike Mensonides, Desirae Krone, Jayce Almanza, Kate McHenry, and Kristi Rhodes; as well as 24 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home. Following the service, Patsy will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
Her love and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
