Robert "Bobby" Fonseca of West Roxbury passed away on June 8, 2025. He was 72 years old.
Born and raised in Boston, Bobby worked for over 20 years as Head Custodian for the Walpole Public Schools. He was an avid pool player and an avid fan of all of the Boston sports teams and a cold Budwieser in a frosted mug. His prized possession was his 1998 red Corvette. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed camping all of his life. Despite not being the greatest swimmer in the world, he loved the ocean and sailing to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Above all else, Robert enjoyed singing Elvis songs, surrounded by family and friends and making everyone laugh. He is now at peace and will be greatly missed.
Bobby was the loving father of Danielle Melissa Fonseca and her long-time partner William Alifonso of Taunton. Cherished grandfather, "Papa," of Arianna Malave and Dante Alifonso. Dear brother of Napoleon "Nappy" Fonseca of Japan, Antoinette "Toni" Fonseca of West Roxbury, and John Fonseca II. Dear uncle of R.J. Daughtery, Yvette Fonseca, and John Fonseca III. Best friend of Mike Hynes of Milton. He is also survived by several loving grand-nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring.St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Dad,
I love you, miss you, and feel you with me everyday. If only I could have hugged you one last time. I´ll never forget our ride back from the Marina with the music blaring as we sang Jimmy Buffet´s Margarita Ville. My memories of you is what I´ll hold close to my heart and they´ll keep your spirit alive. Catch you at the Bay! 143 Always and forever

Hi,
I am a teacher in Walpole and just wanted to share my sincere sadness in hearing about your loss! Bobby was such a great guy and did so much for the teachers at Bird Middle School, we´ve missed him since he retired! He always looked out for us and always did it with an easy smile and a twinkle in his eye. I´ll never forget coming back from summer break and finding my classroom set up with all new desks; he was so excited to show me. Another time, someone had donated a desk and Bobby set it aside for me thinking that I would like a new desk; it was kind of small, but there was no way I was going to say no to his enthusiasm!

Being a custodian can be a really thankless, tough job, but he did it really well and made our jobs so much easier to do! It´s not often you come across someone like Bobby: compassionate, fun, dedicated, hard-working, and just really kind! I´ve missed him and am sorry that your family has lost such a good person.

May his memory be a blessing
Lisa Goldman

Bob was a wonderful person. I knew him as a custodian at Bird Middle school where he took very good care of all of us. He felt like family. I am so sorry for his family and friends. This is a huge loss.
