Robert Melton “Mel” Fox, Jr., 67, of Commerce, passed away in Greenville, Texas on July 27, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1957, in Kaufman, Texas, the son of Robert Melton Fox, Sr. and Peggy Joyce Bankhead Fox.
Mel attended Commerce High School graduating with the class of 1976. Following high school, he attended East Texas State University for a time. Mel worked at several golf courses in Houston and the Dallas area before coming to Webb Hill Country Club for 20+ years. He was a popular teacher and loved by many people around the club. When Mel had down time, he enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on television, especially professional football.
Mel is survived by his brother, Kevin Fox and his wife, Donna.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Melton “Bobby” Fox, Sr. and Peggy Joyce Fox.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Mel at Webb Hill Country Club, 438 FM 2358, Wolfe City, TX 75496, on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Donations are being accepted to help with expenses. Gifts may be made payable to Webb Hill, notated in the memo as "Mel Fox Memorial".
