Robert Allen Fox (Opa), 95 passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025 in Weatherford, Texas. Robert was born on July 17, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict, as a Corporal in the Regiment Service Battery Unit.

Returning from service he worked alongside his father, Art Fox operating Fox Garage in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Their motto was "C.A Fox First".

He opened Fox Frame & Axle in Marion, Iowa specializing in heavy duty truck repairs. This led him to a career working for Bee-Line Equipment specializing in selling and training individuals in heavy duty truck alignment equipment, retiring in 2015.

In 1976 Bob and his family began building the Lazy F Ranch located outside of Deadwood, South Dakota where they resided until 1996. Bob's love of the west and horses, drew him to be part of the Days of 76 Rodeo and Museum. He rode as an outrider for the parade and worked behind the scenes at the rodeo. Bob helped refurbish horse drawn wagons and hearses for the museum.

After the sale of the Ranch, Bob & Neely moved to Georgetown, Texas. His love of carpentry led him to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.

Bob walked many miles through his neighborhood in Georgetown visiting with neighbors and handing out dog treats. Bob & Neely remained active in their church as ushers and volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association. Bob's interest helped define who he was. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and a competitive game of cards. Bob was a carpenter and a woodworker using his skills to create many keepsakes that he loved to share with family and friends. He enjoyed helping family with projects and passing on his knowledge.

Bob loved young children. He never passed by without stopping to greet them. He especially enjoyed being able to attend grandchildren's sports and activities.

Robert is survived by his wife Neely Fox of 49 years, daughters Chris (Brian) Shulista, Iowa, Kendel (Brad) Mears, Iowa, sons Gary (Laura) Kemp, Texas, Robbie Kemp, South Dakota, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Northern Hills Training Center – Attention Dr. Michele Powers CEO, 925 Harvard Street, Spearfish, South Dakota, 57783 or can be made online at NHTC website.

Bob's favorite quote "We are so blessed; we have the best family". He will be deeply missed & remembered in our hearts.
