Robert "Bobby" Greene

Robert "Bobby" Greene, aged 82, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 11, 2025, at his home in Ellenton, FL. Born on January 15, 1943, in Memphis, TN, Bobby was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his quick wit, sweet spirit, kindness beyond measure and a knack for making everyone laugh. Bobby leaves behind his devoted wife of 33 years, Susan Greene (Stevenson), who will miss his charming antics and loving nature. His youngest son, Michael Greene, and granddaughters, Grace and Emma Greene, all of St. Paul, MN, will fondly remember his playful spirit and endless jokes. Bobby also leaves behind his two daughters, Lisa (Sean) Cline of Olive Branch, MS, and Amy Williams, along with her sons, Miles and Max Williams, all of Greenwood, MS, who will forever cherish his humor and wisdom. Additionally, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Cindy (Rick) Flynn of New Port Richey, FL. Bobby will be remembered fondly by his niece, Erin Flynn and his nephews, Michael (Kerri) Flynn, Jim Green and great niece Collen Flynn. Bobby is also survived by his sister, Judy. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, James Greene and Bessie Hopkins, his brother, Jim, his sister, Bonnie, his oldest son, Robert Greene, Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Sarah Armstrong Greene. They have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms and a hearty laugh. Bobby's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His family and friends will remember him for his kindness, warmth, and the love he shared with those around him. He was a Member of the Moose Legion, a former Board Member of the Tampa Bay University of Tennessee Alumni Association, a Memphis Bop Club Member of the Year, a proud member of the Bop-N-Quers International BBQ team, and a semi-amateur golfer. Bobby was a proud graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, TN. Bobby retired after 30 years with Roadway Express in Memphis, TN, and was the owner of a residential property management company, Trading Places, in Tampa, FL. A memorial service will be held to honor Bobby's life at the Palmetto Moose Lodge 2117, located at 203 9th St Dr W, Palmetto, FL 34221, on Sunday, July 27th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of his daughter-in-law, Sarah, or to the Dementia Society of America. Bobby's legacy of laughter and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Bobby, GO VOLS! and keep them laughing up there.
